Inaugural meeting: Fri 21st October

The first meeting of Transition Walthamstow (TW) will take place at 7pm on Friday 21st October at the Hornbeam Centre.

If you expect to attend it would be helpful if you could RSVP (paul.gasson@gmail.com) just in case we need to use a bigger space available next door to Hornbeam.

I believe the following format would work quite well at next week’s meeting, but I’d be delighted to hear your thoughts on alternatives.

  • What is Transition all about? (15 minutes)
  • Mapping exercise and discussion (15 minutes)
  • Open floor – hot topics (10 mins)
  • Refreshment break (5 mins)
  • Visioning exercise: What do we want for Walthamstow? (30 mins)
  • Next steps: (10 minutes)

Venue: The Hornbeam Centre, 458 Hoe St, Walthamstow, E17 9AH (its at the junction of Hoe St & Bakers Avenue).  Map: http://g.co/maps/ty88q

The meeting agenda might change as a result of feedback and the latest version will be posted here.
There’s also a facebook group here: www.facebook.com/TransitionWalthamstow

If anyone felt it would be helpful we could set up a Yahoo or Google group for discussion.

Note that I am self appointed in initiating Transition Walthamstow and propose to facilitate this first meeting as I have had quite a bit of exposure to Transition.
But its up to participants on how we move forward, whether any interim leaders are required, and if so who they might be…. having said that if there’s a need for leadership in the short term I’d be delighted to support this in whatever way is required.

Best wishes,
Paul Gasson
