Food growing in Waltham Forest: Monday 29th April 8:00 pm

Waltham Forest Council is holding a debate on “How can we encourage and support more residents to grow their own food?”

In the current economic climate there has never been a better time to encourage our residents to grow more of their own food whatever their circumstances. What are the barriers to more home food growing and what can we all do to help raise the profile and benefits of growing our own food?  This will also be an opportunity to discuss and comment on Waltham Forest’s first ever ‘Food Growing Action Plan’.

Discussion starts at 8pm. At The North Star pub, Browning Road, Leytonstone E11.

Expert panel including speakers from:

  • Organiclea
  • Transition Leytonstone
  • Waltham Forest Allotment Society

Chaired by Cllr Clyde Loakes – Environment portfolio holder & deputy leader of Waltham Forest Council, and member of the London Food Board.

Contact Clyde on cllr.clyde.loakes@walthamforest.gov.uk for more information.

This is the first in a series of public discussions supported and promoted by the Leytonstone Ward Councillors – Cllr Marie Pye, Cllr Jenny Gray, Cllr Clyde Loakes & The North Star Pub.
