Adopt a Tree and courses in 2015
Our Adopt a Tree scheme supports our orchard and helps to ensure access to local seasonal fruit now and for future generations – we hope these trees will outlive many of us! For £20 you can gift a tree as a present or to mark a special occasion or as a memorial. You get a planting certificate to pass on to the recipient, and you can visit on monthly open days to see our orchard taking shape and growing.
And in early 2015 we have courses on growing grapevines, fruit care and establishing an edible nursery – all can be booked as gifts if you know someone who would appreciate a learning opportunity.
The winners of the Urban Food Awards were announced last week and Organiclea was awarded “Best Producer” and runner up in “Best Retailer” categories. The awards were to celebrate “small good food enterprises that do great stuff in their local communities and work hard for the benefit of people and planet more generally”. We were asked to show ways in which we produce or use more sustainable food, offer social benefits, contribute to the local economy and enhance the health of people and our environment. A big thankyou to all who voted, and of course also to all the people who have volunteered and learned with us, bought our produce and supported Organiclea over the past few years.
